The collective AiR iTALiCS emerged in 2025 from the urge of choreographer/dancer Raquel Nevado Ramos and composer/interdisciplinary artist Johannes Schropp to interweave the practices, principles and working methods of the broad field of contemporary choreography and composition and to explore genuinely interdisciplinary formats and working methods in which dance coexists in exchange with other disciplines as equal artistic spheres and can be experienced in a new way through spatially and temporally hybrid, multi-layered formats. Raquel and Johannes began working together in 2024 with the audiovisual installation “SPHEARES”, which focused on the experience of dance as mere sound and visually absent. The two stage pieces “Warm up” (2024) and “Plié” (2025) were also created, in which choreography and composition were developed in parallel in a close exchange and working process. In 2025, AiR iTALiCS appeared in public for the first time as a collective with the hybrid “Tendu”, which interweaves an installation lasting several hours in a church with a subsequent stage performance. The duo collaborated with various artists, whereby an intimate, personal way of working in exchange with the interests and creativity of the respective individuals forms the basis for the thematic and artistic development of the pieces.
